The euphoria is still there. Your family can’t get over the fact that they already have a registered nurse in the house! And why not? After 4 grueling years of giving school allowance and funding other projects’ expenses, finally, your Mom and Dad will no longer feel that much of a financial burden anymore as you – the new NLE board passer sets off to join the tens of thousands of healthcare providers in and outside the country in pursuing a noble profession.

But before all that, you have to prepare for the much-awaited oath taking ceremony which will happen very, very soon!

As soon as the oath taking ceremony is over, you are faced with the gargantuan task of getting yourself employed in the country – in a private or government hospital, private clinic, private company or school – or anywhere that would provide you with the opportunity to apply what you have learned in a real healthcare provider setting.

In order to put yourself on top of the other applicants, it would greatly help if your resume included a certification for Basic Life Support (BLS) at the very least. A certification for both BLS and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) will get your application a notch higher.

These two valid certifications would tell your would-be employer that you are indeed equip with the knowledge and skills that would be helpful in performing your job at their institution – regardless if it’s a hospital, a clinic or school.
